1816 John Dawson Clarke was a merchant and excise officer. He owned the wherry Harriet and the Spreadeagle public house in Staithe Road

1840 Samuel Clarke was a maltster as well as working for his father John

1867 W Clarke. Baker and publican at the Spreadeagle

1882 Charles William Clarke. Tradesman in partnership with Dale and Riches. Owner of a shop in Ludham High Street and a sweet shop in Staithe Road.

1891 Winter Clarke and wife Elizabeth was licensee of the Spread Eagle Inn Staithe Rd, Ludham. Their son Charles W Clarke married Gertrude Ellen Redgate and was a farmer living on Staithe Road in 1939.

1917 Herbert Charles Clarke, farmer at Walton Hall Farm, Ludham

1939 S F Clarke. Farmer at Grove Farm Catfield and later an artist at Grove Farm Gallery, Catfield.
